A visit to Mountain Rescue By Callum D on 13 July 2022 (updated 21 July 2022) In Public, public Light Blue Troop / 0 comments Scouts managed to get the opportunity to visit Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association tonight. Learning about hill safety, how UWFRA keep people safe and help people in the countryside, and even to practice some rescue skills including ropework, learning what the landrovers carry, and how to assemble and carry someone on the stretcher! All the scouts thoroughly enjoyed it, and hopefully now have a better idea what fell rescue is all about and how best to call for help if ever that is needed. Massive thanks to UWFRA for hosting us, and for everything they do for those out and about on the hills! And a huge thanks to Tom, Beth, Sam, and Adrian for running this fantastic evening.
