Age Range Cub Scouts are aged between eight years and ten and a half years old. New members transfer from our Beaver Colony or can enter Cubs direct from our external waiting List Regular Meetings We have two Cub packs within our Ben Rhydding Group: The Chubb Pack meets every Wednesday evening between 6:30pm and 8:00pm and the Findlay Pack meets every Thursday evening between 6:30pm and 8:00pm. Challenges Once a Cub Scout is invested, they will take part in a Balanced Programme which consists of seven challenge awards including, Our World Challenge, Our Skills Challenge, Our Outdoors Challenge, Our Adventure Challenge, Teamwork Challenge, Personal Challenge and Team Leader Challenge. Exciting Activities Cub Scouts get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on camps. The main aim of this Section is to encourage self-confidence, community involvement and exploring the outdoors. Badges Cub Scouts also have the opportunity of earning 38 activity badges which includes badges in Fire Safety, Disability Awareness, Personal Safety and many more! There are also 15 staged activity badges which are awarded depending on the level of skill a Cub Scout has earned. Awards The Chief Scout’s Silver Award is the highest award in the Cub section and is awarded once all the challenge awards and a selection of activity badges have been achieved.
