Summer term programme added to the website 19 April 2017 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D Please visit the programme page to see details of what’s on at Scouts between now and the summer holidays The lighter nights are upon us so our programme for the rest of this Scouting year takes advantage of this and sees us trying to get outside as much as we can. There is a good balance of fun and Scouting skills – of course the two go together anyway – and lots of opportunity to practice things and learn new skills in preparation for Summer Camp in Belgium. Please take time to look at the programme, and if you have any questions, ask Spider.

Remembrance Day – Scout meeting on Friday and service on Sunday 8 November 2016 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D The Troop will be taking part in the Remembrance Day service and parade on Sunday 13th November. At the Scout meeting on Friday 11th we will be learning more about this important day. The service and parade are an important event in our annual calendar, and we ask that all Scouts make the effort to attend as we remember those men and women who have given their lives in war and conflict. We will assemble in Whitton Croft Road, behind the Town Hall, at 14:15. The parade will move down Wells Road and The Grove followed by a service in the Memorial Gardens. Scouts will be dismissed from the Memorial Gardens after the service at around 15:30. Full and smartly presented uniform must be worn by Scouts, including smart school shoes and no trainers. Please also consider supporting The Poppy Appeal by wearing a poppy. A collection is usually taken during the service. On Friday 11th November there will be a Scout meeting held as normal between 19:15 and 21:15. We will be joined by Jack Rickard MBE, an ex-serving Officer who has had a varied military career, including tours of Afghanistan and Iraq. Please make sure you attend the meeting in smart uniform and with your poppy.
