Hag Dyke January 2011 5 December 2010 (updated 2 March 2022) | By Callum D Our next visit to Hag Dyke is coming up on the weekend of the 14th to 16th January 2011. Please make sure that you visit the Hag Dyke January 2011 page here to download the letter and permission form. This is our traditional ‘Christmas’ visit and is certain to be great fun. As well as activities on the hills around Hag Dyke we will also enjoy a Christmas Dinner, maybe with some special guests. As the weather may be cold and wet, it is important to have the right clothing. There is a suggested kit list on the Useful Forms page, which can also be a handy source of ideas for Christmas presents! Please note the closing date of 17th December for returning the permission form
IMPORTANT – Night Hike Cancelled 2 December 2010 (updated 2 March 2022) | By Callum D With regret we have taken the decision to cancel the night hike over the moor that was planned for this Friday. With the depth of snow and uncertainty over the weather forecast we feel it is too much of a risk to go ahead. This will now be rearranged for another date in the future. Scouts is still on tomorrow though, but the meeting will be at the Scout Hut and the usual time. No need to come in uniform, but please come prepared to be outside, with boots, waterproofs, hat, gloves etc. Fred has come up with a great activity for us to do in the snow. Look forward to seeing you all there.
Night Hike Friday 3rd December 28 November 2010 (updated 2 March 2022) | By Callum D The meeting this Friday (3rd December) is a night hike over Ilkley Moor. We will meet in the car park of the Dick Hudson’s pub on the moor road to Bingley / Keighley at the normal time of 19:15. The meeting will finish at 21:15 at the Cow & Calf car park (where the little cafe is, not the pub). Please make sure that you have suitable clothing, i.e. walking boots, waterproofs, hat, gloves, several layers. Walking boots are essential. Anyone not wearing walking boots will not be able to take part in the walk. You can also bring a torch, but use it sparingly as it is far better to get your night sight working. This is a great walk, and will be extra special if we still have snow, so we look forward to seeing all the Scouts there.
