Wide Game Friday 12th April 11 April 2013 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D The Scout meeting this Friday is a Wide Game – of meeting place The meeting this Friday is a wide game on Ilkley Moor. We will be meeting in the car park below the paddling pool at the normal meeting time of 19:15, and you should drop your child off there. Scouts should come prepared to be outdoors, bringing warm clothes, waterproofs and wearing hiking boots. The meeting will finish at the normal time of 21:15, and children should again be collected from the car park below the paddling pool. Can PLs make sure all their Patrol are aware.
Important reminder for Parents 1 March 2013 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D Just a quick reminder that tonight only Scouts who are in Lion, Kestrel and Raven patrols should come to the meeting. Next week (8th March) only Scouts in Wolves, Eagle and Hawk patrols should attend. This is to enable some focussed training sessions to develop key Scouting skills. The same pattern will follow for the two subsequent weeks. Full details can be found on the programme page.
Summer Camp 2013 17 February 2013 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D We have started to plan our annual week long Summer Camp. Summer Camp this year will be from 3rd to 10th August in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. Please see the first letter about camp, which you can open by clicking on the link below. Summer Camp is open to all members of the Troop. For us to finalise our plans we need to know how many Scouts will be joining the camp. Please complete and return the form at the bottom of the letter as soon as possible, and by Friday 12th April at the latest. Santa Float 19 December 2012 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D Reminder of the start time for the Santa Float. Will those Scouts who have been asked to help on the Santa Float on Friday remember that you need to be at the Scout Hut before 6pm. The float will depart at 6pm. For all others, the meeting starts at 7:15pm as normal.
Very Important – Change of meeting place for tonight – 14th December 14 December 2012 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D Please note, the meeting tonight will be at the Scout Hut and not on the moor. Due to the poor weather and the forecast for this evening, we have decided to hold the meeting at the Scout Hut, and will rearrange the wide game for the New Year. Still non uniform this evening.
Fundraising – Tesco bag packing, Sunday 16th December 2012 12 December 2012 (updated 4 March 2022) | By Callum D Help is needed with our most important fund raising event this Sunday. We are again allowed to raise funds by helping shoppers at Tesco pack their shopping bags. This is a great way to raise money for the Troop, and also shows us off to the local community . We need volunteers (scouts and parents) though to help on Sunday. Our time slot is between 10:00 and 16:00 and we expect to run 3 shifts. 10-12, 12-2 and 2-4. Please can you think about which shift you can do, and send an email to the leaders inbox ‘leaders@1stbenrhyddingscouts.org.uk’ before Friday to let us know. We will confirm the shifts on Friday at Scouts. We do also need parents to help us make sure that the children are properly supervised, so please offer to help as well. Thank you for your support.
